Welcome to the world of Crysis Wars EX, the new experience in the Crysis universe brought to you by the Online Modding Group. This project is extending the core game with new features and improvements that were requested by the community. Crysis Wars EX includes features like the OMG! Stats System or the OMG! Login System. This project page will provide you a good overview of what Crysis Wars EX is.

Menu Points
Download & Installation (top) 
We provide two Crysis Wars EX install methods. The first one is an installer; we moreover recommend players to use this installer version. The installer will lead you through the full installation process, and will place a shortcut on your desktop to start Crysis Wars EX.

The second method is a simple .zip archive that should be used by Server Administrators to upgrade their servers to Crysis Wars EX. Just copy the complete “Mods” folder to your Crysis Wars main folder.

Console Commands

Crysis Wars EX is adding several new console commands to the game that can be used to change the own game settings. In addition to that also many new server side variables have been added to ensure that server administrators can adjust the game server to their wishes.

Server Side (top)  
The following list of console variables can be adjusted by server administrators using Crysis Wars EX. For further details about the features please click on the links in the description.

CVar to enable / disable the Walljump Feature.
z_restrictGraphic
The restricted graphic mode can be activate / deactivated by using this CVar. This CVar can only be changed in the server.cfg and requires a restart of the server. The restricted graphic mode sets all players on a server to LowSpec.
z_allowNameCommand
CVar to allow / disallow the use of z_name to change the name in-game.
z_restrictItemsIA
Can be used to restrict items for Instant Action only. Item names should be seperated by commas, semicolons or spaces.
z_restrictItemsTIA Can be used to restrict items for Team Instant Action only. Item names should be seperated by commas, semicolons or spaces.
z_restrictItemsPS Can be used to restrict items for Power Struggle only. Item names should be seperated by commas, semicolons or spaces.
z_allowHighPingKick
This CVar can be used to enable / disable the High Ping Kick feature
z_highPingThreshold
CVar to set the maximum allowed ping on the server. Players with a ping higher than this will be kicked from the server.
z_highPingBanTime
CVar to set the time players are kicked from a server for high ping.
z_allowSimpleTargetName
This CVar can be used to enable / disable the Simple Target Name feature. If enabled the name of an enemy player will be shown as soon as you aim for more than half a second on him.
z_pingList
Command to print down the ping of each player.
z_allowNomadAlias
Used to enable / disable the renaming feature for players with the name Nomad.
z_aliasAdd
CVar to add new alias names that are used for renaming Nomads.
z_aliasReset
This command resets the list of aliases for Nomad.
z_aliasDump
Command used to print the complete list of aliases for Nomad in the console.
z_statsEnable
Used to enable / disable the OMG! Stats System.
z_statsMessages
Used to enable / disable the stats messages displayed on the server.
z_statsAuth
This CVar is required for the authorization process to the OMG! Stats System.
z_allowGamePause Enable/disable game pause feature.
z_gamePauseOnInitTime Time in seconds before freeze the game, 0 freeze immediataly.
z_gamePauseOnFreezeTime
Time in seconds on freeze status, 0 calls immediataly a post freeze.
z_gamePausePostFreezeTime Time in seconds before unfreeze the game, 0 unfreeze immediataly.
z_gamePauseMaxPlayerRequests Game pause max requests for each player. Default is 1, 0 allows infinite requests.
z_allowNoWinnerOvertime Enable/disable no winner overtime at the match end. Default is 1, 0 disables overtime.
z_overtimeValue Overtime value (in minutes). Default is 3, 0 disables overtime.
z_suitSkinUS Suit skin for US team. Default is "US.0"

Client Side

The following list of console variables can be adjusted by clients using Crysis Wars EX. For further details about all the features please click on the links in the descriptions.

Console Command Description
z_modVersion
This variable is used to print the mod version information in the console on every verbosity level. Read-only.
z_credits
Using this command players can print the detailed credits of Crysis Wars EX in the console.
z_antiCheat
Command to print all anti cheat related information in the console.
z_protectComparison
This Command compares the server Protect.xml file with the client Protect.xml file to ensure the server is using the correct one.
z_name
If z_allowNameCommand is enabled the player can change his name by using this command.
z_cleanConsole
This command cleans the console to provide a better overview for players.
z_showFPS
Variable to enable / disable the FPS command on the HUD.
z_showInfo
Variable to enable / disable the information command showing mod name, version, map and ping on the HUD.
z_RCONconnect
This command allows connection to a remote control server using the IP, port, RCON port and RCON password.
z_RCONcommand
Allows to issue a command form a RCON client to a RCON server.
z_RCONdisconnect
This command disconnects the player from the remote control server.
z_modname
Variable to print the full mod name into the console on every verbosity level. Read-only.
z_hitIndicator
Variable to enable / disable the hit indicator introduced with Crysis Wars patch 1.5.
z_GUID
This CVar is used to display the EX GUID in the console. Read only.

This command can be used to bind the connection to a remote control server to a specific key.

Power Struggle (top)

Location: Caraga Region, Philippines

Description: This North Korean Prototype Facility has been designated a focal point for liberation by United States forces. A nano-suit equipped team has been ordered to secure the facility, including the railway system that provides access to a nuclear underground facility.

Environment: huts, plantations, non-tropical environment
Location: Caraga Region, Philippines
Size: small (8 to 16 soldiers)

Description: US and North Korean Special Forces teams have been ordered to secure a small area in the Philippines that has multiple confirmed alien crash sites. A small research dome has been constructed in the area and may be used to process alien energy for use against hostile forces.

Changes
  • Added third entrance to the Prototype Factory
  • Added the tunnel system of Plantation back to the map
  • Fixed some small graphical issues
  • Both Alien Energy Sites have been moved some meters

Description: This North Korean facility has been dsignated a focal point for liberation by United States forces. A nano-suit equipped team has been ordered to secure the facilities there, including a previously unknown Prototype Installation.

  • Fixed exploit with solids floating in the air
  • Removed small objects blocking vehicles at the U.S. base
  • Up to 10% performance increase

Time of Day: Early Morning
Environment: swamp land, lush environment
Location: Bali, Indonesia
Size: small (8 to 16 soldiers)

Description: A minor earthquake destroyed the access routes to this Prototype Factory, making it difficult to exploit. However, the accrued greed for alien energy made this installation worth fighting for.

Changes
  • Added more cover for players on their way from the outside bunker to the Prototype Factory
  • Removed some background vegetation to improve the performance.
  • Up to 10% performance increase

Description: The North Korean forces built a prototype factory amidst a tiny village to harvest the energy of two recently crashed aliens energy sites, to work on nuclear weaponry. Unfortunately, the U.S. forces found this factory via satellite scan and are now on the way to capture it.

Description: This fishermen village is being contested by the belligerant forces due to its strategical position in front of the North Korean peninsula.


Blitz (top)

Time of Day: Noon
Environment: Asian village, non-tropical environment
Location: Kiribati, Oceania
Size: small (8 to 16 soldiers)

Description: Following the Alien crisis, the small island of Kiribati became a focal point for both the U.S. and North Korean army to produce new prototype weaponry for the war of the future. The U.S. government has sent out a team of nanosuit equipped soldiers to destroy the weapon facility on this island while the North Korean army is there to hold the line of defense till reinforcement arrives.

 
 

EX Features (top)
One of the goals of Crysis Wars EX is to improve the balance of the game to let people experience a full balanced game with tons of new features. This section lists the most important features

Restricted Graphics (top)
If enabled on a server all players will be forced to use the same graphical settings (LowSpec) to ensure that everyone sees exactly the same and players gain no advantage because of better hardware. The own graphic settings will be backed up and applied again to the game as soon as the player is disconnecting from the server. This feature was mainly created for competitve players and therefore we do not recommend the usage on public servers.
  • z_restrictgraphic <boolean> (default: 0)
Simple Target Name (top)
When you aim at your opponent for about half a second, his nickname will show as if you hit him. (Note: Only the server admins can allow that feature)
  •  z_allowSimpleTargetName <boolean> (default: 0)
High Ping Kick (top)
Allows the setting of a ping threshold above which players will be kicked out of the server. This feature can be adjusted with three different console commands.
The first one is used to enable and disable the feature and is called z_allowHighPingKick. The second command is used to set the specific threshold - z_highPingThreshold. The third and last one is used to set a specific ban time if you want that players that are kicked for high ping are unable to connect to your server for a specific time.

  • z_highPingThreshold <Max. Ping in milliseconds> (default: 100)
  • z_highPingBanTime <Time in minutes> (default: 0)
Walljump Feature (top)
You can now use the Crysis 1-style "walljump"! To "walljump", you have to put your sights at around -45 degres from your horizon's line of sight and jump against the obstacle. If executed successfully, you will see the "hands-push" animation against the obstacle (note that you can jump way higher in Strength mode).

Alias Names for Nomads (top)
Server admins can specify to automatically rename players that bear the default “Nomad” name. Four commands can be used to maintain this feature. The first command is used to enable and disable this feature.
  • z_allowNomadAlias <boolean> (default: 0)
The second command can be used to add names that are used to rename players using the name Nomad. Alias names should be separated by commas, semicolons or spaces. It’s possible to add a total of 1000 alias, however the variable can support 255 chars max.
  • z_aliasAdd <string>
The command z_aliasReset is used to clean the list of names that are used to rename Nomads. The fourth command is used to print a full list of all aliases on the server.

New Gamemode: (Team) Crytical Hit (top)
A new game mode introduced with Crysis Wars EX 1.1 is Crytical Hit and the team version of this game mode: Team Crytical Hit. In both game modes player get equipped with a new prototype weapon that was also introduced in Crysis Wars EX 1.1: SPARC Rifle. With this weapon players will be able to kill the enemy in one shot without any spread and recoil. Besides that the prototype version of the SPARC Rifle is also capable of enhancing the nanosuit and therefore players can jump higher, sprint faster and get less fall damage when jumping down extremely high distances.

All current Instant Action and Team Instant Action maps support the new game mode. Additional new maps that are only done for CH/TCH will be released at a later stage.

New Gamemode: Blitz (top) 
The third new game mode that was announced for Crysis Wars EX 1.1. is Blitz. Blitz is a round based and tactial new team mode that forces members of a team to work together to achieve the overall goal. This section should provide you a short introduction to Blitz and the map that gets shipped with the game mode.

At the start of a Blitz game players have the chance to choose a team. Depending on the team the objective is a different one:

U.S. Army - A Special Forces team equipped with nanosuits gets deployed at the beach of a village to destroy a North Korean weapon facility. To do that they have to get into a village that is under North Korean control and use a radio station to call an airstrike that will destroy the prototype facility.

North Korea - A squad of KPS nanosuit soldiers have been deployed near the townhall of the small village to defend the village and the radio stations till reinforcement arrives. Attacked by the U.S. Army the North Koreans have built up a solid defense to hold off the Americans.

A Blitz game consists of two half times. First half of a Blitz game a team of players is joining the U.S. army and the others the KPA. After a number of rounds that can be defined by the server administrator the teams are switching sides automatically and playing again the same number of rounds. At the end the team that won more rounds will win the match.

The U.S. Army wins a round,...
  • if they have eliminated all North Korean soldiers.
  • if the airstrike was deployed successfully.
The KPA wins a round,...
  • if they have eliminated all U.S. soldiers before they could call an airstrike
  • if they have eliminated all U.S. soldiers and canceled the airstrike
  • if the timelimit hits and have canceled the airstrike (if a radio was activated)
  • (if they have canceled the airstrike [only valid if z_blitz_endroundafterdefuse is set to 1])

EX Improvements (top)
Improvements are a big part of Crysis Wars EX. Crytek has done a excellent job but some of the features required some adjustments to really make them useful and therefore we improvemed them for EX.

Extended Console (top)
When open, the console now does occupies 3/4 of the screen instead of the original half.

Extended Loadout System (top)
We added several options to monitor your created loadouts, bind their buying with a single command, or even better: with a single key. (It's recommended to add this to your autoexec.cfg file so you don't have to retype it everytime!)

Extended Restrictions (top)
While Crysis Wars had one command to add restrictions, Crysis Wars EX features three commands, one for every game mode, to allow server administrators to restrict the items for the players.

New RCON Commands (top)
We made some new, and more reliable RCON-related commands for server admins to improve the handling of the RCON feature. The command z_RCONbind can be used to bind a specific RCON server to a key allowing you to connect to RCON with one click.

EX Balance Adjustments (top)
One of the goals of Crysis Wars EX is to improve the balance of the game to let people experience a full balanced game with tons of new features. This section lists the most important features

Melee Damage (top)
With Crysis Wars EX the melee damage has been reduced. In Strength mode it takes two melee hits (minimum one to the head) to kill an enemy. Without an hit in the head it takes three melee hits to kill an enemy.
If server administrators prefer the old value they can tweak it with the console variables below:
  • g_melee_damage = 25   (Patch 1.5: 27)
  • g_melee_strength_damage = 50   (Patch 1.5: 100)
3D HUD Icons (top)
In Crysis Wars EX the 3D Objective icons above each Prefab (Factories, Bunkers, Crash Sites) in Power Struggle have been resized. We think the original used icons are just too big and have a negative effect on the gameplay. Therefore we have minimized them a littlebit.
Also, we modified their appearance behavior: They now only appear if you're farther than 60 meters from the objective.

Hurricane Weapon Adjustments (top)
Many players know the Hurricane from the Singleplayer Campaigne but actually the weapon can also be used in Multiplayer. However the weapon was so far never really balanced and always considered as a super weapon that should be almightly what the Hurricane is for sure...NOT. Therefore we adjusted the weapon properties and finally we gave the Hurricane it´s destiny. Capture the Prototype Factory and buy the ultimative defending weapon.

FY71 Weapon Adjustments (top)
Crysis players know the FY-71 as the most powerful weapon, Crysis Wars players normally never touch a FY-71 because the weapon is too weak and Crysis Wars EX players will play with the SCAR and the FY-71, choosing the weapon that fits best to their playstyle.
The new FY-71 is more effective at close range, as effective as the SCAR in a middle range and less effective at long distances.

    • decay = 0.75   (Patch 1.5: 0.5)
Claymore Adjustments (top) 
To balance the almightly claymores the prize of them has been raised from 50 Prestige Points to 75 Prestige Points. Also the amount of Claymores that can be placed on the ground has been limited to one instead of two.

OMG! Login & Stats System (top)


Login System(top)
When you open Crysis Wars EX for the first time, it will ask you for a OMG! Login and a password. You'll have to register ingame, or on the forums, or even on the statistics website, to play Crysis Wars EX. (Note the login/pass will be the same for all three websites once you register one time!)

Stats System (top)
When you frag an opponent, or when you get killed, you can now see detailed information about the kill/death in question!
If you wish to tune up that new feature, use the following commands:
z_statsEnable, z_statsFadeoutTime.

If you're a server admin, you can make your server stream game statistics to the OMG! Stats System! Simple head over to our stats website and follow the instructions.
