Crysis Wars EX 1.1 to be released 25.11.09

Welcome to the last news piece about Crysis Wars EX before the actual release will happen. We are proud to announce that Crysis Wars EX will be released on Wednesday, the 25th of November during the evening.
In addition to that we have prepared a short video for you showing the new map Village and Blitz, our upcoming new and round based game mode. The video shows a typical round of Blitz:
- The U.S. team spawns on the beach and prepares to invade the village.
- Once reaching a radio they are calling an airstrike, what will activate the alarm signal all over the village.
- If the North Korean army is unable to disable the signal, the U.S. airforce is bombing the prototype weapon facility.
We hope you enjoy the video and are happy as we are that Crysis Wars EX 1.1.0 is finally going to be released very soon.

Crysis Wars EX 1.1.0 Changelog
During the last weeks we have added more and more improvements, features, fixes to the changelog but this list was never intended to be the complete list. So here is the final and complete list of changes for Crysis Wars EX 1.1.0.

- LTV: Armed variants have slightly increased armour values.
- All vehicle with MG turrets: Gunner turret now turns and pitches with vehicle, not independently.
- All vehicles: Splash damage received from explosive weapons works more realistically.
BALANCING
- Reduction of damage applied to players when falling from a higher ground.
- Reduced strength jump maximum energy consumption from 40 to 30.
- FY71: Raised the rate of fire from 610 to 615.
- SCAR: Slightly raised the base recoil values between 5 and 10%.
- SCAR: Slightly decreased all sights/scopes recoil and spread bonuses, even when proning or crouching.
- Hurricane: Balanced effectiveness against all vehicles, including armoured vehicles.
- FGL40: Replaced all FGL40 grenades by bouncing grenades, for delayed explosion.
- FGL40: Reduced the FGL40 Nano/EMP grenade effect and particle maximum radius from 10 to 7 meters.
- FGL40: Reduced the FGL40 Nano/EMP Grenade damage from 60 to 0.
- LAW: Added LAW auto-target feature.
- Decrease of the LAW rocket speed & rebalancing to ensure fair vehicle combat.
- Nano Disruptor/EMP Grenade: Reduced minimum blast radius from 12 to 0.1, max. radius is still 12.
- C4: Increased carrying capacity to 2. Player can only lay 1 at a time however.
- Silencer: Silencers now provide a -10% global recoil bonus
- Silencer: Silencer damage reduced or improved depending on the weapon.
- LAM: Raised min./max. spread to the SCAR, SMG, Minigun, SOCOM & AY69's LAM values to 5%.
- The LAM now only provides a -15% min./max. spread bonus (instead of the original 25~40%).
- All vehicles: Altered damages for various weapons. Some were doing no damage at all.
- Gauss Tank: Gauss Ammo capacity increased to 15 rounds.
- All TAC Tanks: Removed Coaxial MachineGun from TAC driver’s seat.
- All TAC Tanks: Greatly decreased the TAC handling/performance.
- NK APC: Decreased engine power.
FIXES
- Fixed MOAC shards not disappearing SDK bug.
- Fixed LAW 1st person firing animation that would only be displayed during the third rocket firing.
- Fixed SOCOM OOA tracers that were not showing correctly in 3rd person.
- Hits number on InstantStats HUD were counted wrong
- z_name feature was not compatible with CryStats system
- Statistic title was wrong on GlobalRoundStats when using "stats" with PlayerName argument

The Server Side Mod (SSM) originally developed by Hawkeye is a very famous modification allowing administrators to adjust server settings. With this modification he built a base for future projects just as SSM Aegis or SSM Patriot.
We are proud to have vecchia in our team, one of the originally developers of SSM Patriot that is now working on Crysis Wars ESO. This is mainly a server side extension that works in collaboration with Crysis Wars EX and allows administrators to continue using their favorite and loved SSM features. Of course this is just the base. Crysis Wars ESO will be updated independently what means you can expect regular updates to this system.
The version included in Crysis Wars EX is an early BETA version that is not officially supported by us. Use at your own risk (for now). The current features of Crysis Wars ESO are listed below:

Welcome to the tenth news update on Crysis Wars EX. This is part three on our way towards the release of Crysis Wars EX 1.1 and just some days left till we finally can release the next version.
New Gamemode: Blitz
We already announced two new game modes for Crysis Wars EX: Crytical Hit and Team Crytical Hit. Today we are finally ready to introduce you to the third new game mode of our upcoming release.
The Crysis Wars EX game mode Blitz is an objective and round based game mode that forces the player to work close with his team to complete the goal of the team he has chosen. Players joining the U.S. forces have to call an airstrike using a North Korean radio station. Players joining the North Korean forces have to defend those radio stations.
Crysis Wars EX 1.1 features a new variety of console commands allowing server administrators to adjust the game mode to their needs.

- z_blitz_startupSpawnTime – Defines the time in seconds players have to wait at the start of each round.
- z_blitz_allowTeamChange – If enabled the server will switch teams automatically.
- z_blitz_switchRoundsNumber – Defines the number of rounds that have to be played before the teams will be switched.
- z_blitz_USairstrikeArriveTime – Time it takes till the radio transmission has been successful.
Crysis Wars EX 1.1 Community Polls

Welcome to the ninth news update on Crysis Wars EX. This is part two on our way towards the release of Crysis Wars EX 1.1. The team is still fixing some bugs and preparing the release but we should be ready to release the update in some weeks.
H&K MP5
In the last update you got a first look at the new EP-SPARC Rifle featured in Crysis Wars 1.1. Well this is not the only new weapon. In this update you get a first look at a new MP5 that has been originally designed by the company Heckler & Koch.
The one used in Crysis Wars EX is a custom MP5-N (Navy) with R.A.S. (Rail Adapter System), Folding Stock and S.A.S. (Special Air Service) tag. Players can either pick up this beauty in (Team) Instant Action levels or buy it in Power Struggle matches for a fair prize. Players can attach a Silencer, LAM or a Flashlight to this weapon.
The model and the texture were contributed by Christian Bliss, the animations were done by our team member Vert-X.

Welcome to this update about Crysis Wars EX. We are making good progress and therefore we start today with more regular updates that lead the way for the release of our 1.1 Content Update for your favorite Multiplayer modification.
EP-SPARC Rifle
In our first Monthly Update we introduced you to two of the new game modes: Crytical Hit and Team Crytical Hit. In these game modes players are equipped with one weapon only. Today we are finally able to introduce you to this new weapon. Fighters all over the world please welcome the EP-SPARC Rifle.
This electrically powered semi-automatic particle accelerating cannon is the newest invention of the Mc Tiller Martins Group. This weapon is very accurate and one of the most deadly weapons in the world.
There are two different versions available on the battlefield: The EP-SPARC-2, also known under the codename “Crytical Hit” is only available to nanosuit equipped elite teams. The reason for that is the experimental gas used in this weapon that was found first in the alien mother ship. This gas is boosting the human potential allowing soldiers to jump higher and run faster, but still has unknown side effects over time and so is therefore not required for the long run.
The EP-SPARC-3-5 is the latest installment of the SPARC series and is available to all nanosuit equipped soldiers. This was achieved by reducing the production costs for such a weapon. The experimental gas was replaced by liquid nitrogen and some other parts in the mechanic have also changed. The EP-SPARC-3-5 is thus not as accurate as the EP-SPARC-2. Moreover, the ice sparks generated by the weapon are smaller and therefore cause less damage on victims. While the EP-SPARC-2 is able to shoot unlimited ice sparks, the cooling nitrogen needs to be recharged after 5 shots with the EP-SPARC-3-5 Soldiers can attach a LAM to both weapons and can equip them with a scope of their choice (Reflex, Assault Scope, Sniper Scope).

With more than 1700 tracked players since its initial release, Crysis Wars EX is the most played Multiplayer modification for Crysis Wars. To support these players, the Online Modding Group is working on regular updates featuring new content and improvements the community is waiting for.

Status UpdateOur development team is working hard to get the next version of Crysis Wars EX ready as soon as possible. This content update will feature several new game modes and other useful improvements. In this update we will reveal more features of the upcoming content update but be aware that this is not the final list of features. There will be more revealed during the next weeks.

- [BALANCE] Silencer: Silencers now provide a -10% global recoil bonus
- [BALANCE] Silencer: Silencer damage reduced or improved depending on the weapon.
- [BALANCE] LAW: Added LAW auto-target feature.
- [FIX] Hits number on InstantStats HUD were counted wrong
- [FIX] z_name feature was not compatible with CryStats system
- [FIX] Statistic title was wrong on GlobalRoundStats when using "stats" with PlayerName argument
(Team) Crytical Hit
The Crytical Hit (respectively Team Crytical Hit) game mode is a variant of the Instant Action (respectively Team Instant Action) game mode, pretty much resembling Unreal Tournament/Quake's InstaGib game mode with some additions:
The player spawns automatically with a new weapon introduced in Crysis Wars EX 1.1 that kills in one-hit, no other weapons are usable, and the nanosuit has some boosted abilities such as a more powerful strength jump, or a faster acceleration in speed mode, although the energy consumption is more eager in that case. The goal of a TCH/CH match being the same as in TIA/IA: to score more points than the opponent.

In our last update we revealed a new feature that allows server administrators to change the skin of the nanosuit on the fly for the different teams. Now there are a lot of nanosuit skins out there on Crymod and other sites but we just want to add the best of them to Crysis Wars EX.

Release: Sniper Only Modification
The “SniperOnlyMod” is a small yet simple modification of the (Team) Instant Action game mode created by TheBlackDead, specifically designed for an upcoming ESL event, and allowing players to fight and frag each other with a DSG-1 Sniper Rifle.

Pre Crysis
Just some weeks ago ReCryation, the modding team behind the PreCrysis Single Player modification decided to join the Online Modding Group to use the development resources we have and to help each other with the various projects.
PreCrysis is Crysis as it was planned and envisioned in 2006. Every player knows the story changed during development several times. This modification is divided in three main parts, or acts.
In the first act the player is fighting against the North Korean army upon arrival. The second act will feature the alliance with the North Koreans to fight against the aliens inside the ice sphere. The third and last act will eventually take part in the alien mothership where the player fights back against the aliens in order to ensure the survival of our planet.

It is always exciting to know more about the people that work on something you play and therefore we thought it might be a good addition to our regular updates. This week we will introduce you to Icarus, one of the new members that joined us together with the whole team of the Pre Crysis modification.
Hi, my name is Dave Bechtum, I'm 15 years old and I live in The Netherlands. I'm currently in highschool, exam class. At the Pre Crysis modification I am working as a Game Designer, getting the gameplay into a level. What I do is called "Prototyping", creating the basic gameplay elements and the layout. I am creating a rough version of a map; add all the AI, make basic AI navigation and special events like earthquakes and falling rocks. It then gets passed on to the rest of the team, this way everyone gets a basic idea of what the map is going to be like. Hopefully Pre Crysis will turn out great and that you will all have a great time playing it.

Welcome to the “Crysis Wars EX Update
#7”, the regular report about the latest changes and additions in the
world of Crysis Wars EX. We have several categories in each update and
we hope to get some input from you, the community, to know exactly what
you want to read in these updates. This time we have a new patch for
you and we finally reveal the first new content that will be released
with Crysis Wars EX 1.1.

Patch 1.0.1 has been released just some days ago and we have already prepared another patch that fixes two issues to get to a solid base for future developments. The change log for this patch contains only two entries:
- Fixed issue with solids in Refinery_EX
- Fixed issue with Claymore icons not being displayed.
As always we offer you several ways to update your game. Players that have already Crysis Wars EX 1.0.1 installed will also be informed about the new patch in the game and re-directed to our download section on Crysis-Wars-EX.com. For everyone else just head over to our page and download the latest version of Crysis Wars EX from there.

Crysis Wars EX 1.1 Content
With the release of Crysis Wars EX 1.0.2 we have reached a stable base that we are using to create new content for you. The upcoming version features several new game modes and new maps for you that come along many other improvements and additions. Additional information about the new maps will follow soon on our homepage.

- Balance: Reduction of damage applied to players when falling from a higher ground
- Balance: Decrease of the LAW rocket speed & rebalancing to ensure fair vehicle combat.
- Improvement: Raising OMG! Stats maximum level from 40 to 50.
- Improvement: Addition of shortcut keys to switch the different attachments on the fly.
- Improvement: Server-side variable to change the Nanosuit skins.
Crysis Wars EX is good for gamers but we also want to be good to modders. Therefore we will integrate new content created by the Crysis Community based on several Community Votes that will be started pretty soon on Crysis-Wars-EX.com. Still we have already implemented some community content that is listed below:
- Addition: Flowgraph Plugin System – Wars Edition (developed by Cry-Vlok & James-Ryan)
- Addition: Custom Skyboxes (created by FarCryer)
- Addition: Custom Vehicle Skins for the LTV (created by FarCryer)
- Addition: European Nature Set v0.7 (created by michi:be)
All additional assets are fully integrated in the project and are used in new maps. More additions will be made during the next weeks.
Meet the OMG! Team: Danny02

This week we will introduce you to Danny02, one of our two game programmer that works on a new game mode for upcoming content update.
Hi, my name is Daniel "Danny02" Heinrich. I'm 20 years old and live in Hof (Germany) where I'm studying Computer Science in my second year. I am working at Crysis Wars EX as Game Programmer. My job is to develop a new gamemode that is specified by the Game Designers and assure that all things work out as planned. My work include besides scripting the whole gamemode in LUA a lot of testing and working closely with the other Programmers. Crysis Wars EX is my first big project I'm working on and so I hope to gain a lot of experiences by working in a talented team like this. I'm looking forward to the release of the new game modes and hope that you all will enjoy playing them.

Crysis Wars EX is made to make competitive gaming more exciting and better. With the support of the ESL we are heading towards that goal with the upcoming versions and report regularly here about the latest news from the ESL and other leagues concerning Crysis Wars EX.
ESL Crysis Wars EX 3on3 PS Summer Cup (link)
The first Crysis Wars EX tournament goes in its final stage. During the next days SuP.Enterprise Squad and Clan00 are meeting in the Upper Bracket Final. The winner of this match will advance to the Overall Final. The loser of this match will meet Die Indianer in the Lower Bracket Final and has still the chance to get a ticket for the Overall Final.

Crysis Wars EX 1.0.1 Changes
The team spent about two weeks on creating this patch to mainly fix the
issues we had in the 1.0 release, before beginning to work on the next
major version: our first Contents Update. Below you can find a full
list including all changes and improvements that have been applied to
the modification.
FIXES
- Fixed claymore behavior which has been reverted back to Crysis Wars 1.5.
- Fixed AY69 issues with silencer on third person
- Fixed HighPing performance-related issue; It now works on tick instead of on update, so it is called 1 time each second instead of 30 or more times. You should not get any major FPS drop like in EX 1.0 anymore.
- Fixed possible crash using z_allowWallJump
- Fixed error message when a loadout package is not localized
- Fixed claymore explosive carry limit to 1
- Plantation_EX: Tweaked some vegetation LODs for better visual appearance on low settings
- Plantation_EX: Fixed issue with US barracks being frozen
- Plantation_EX: Fixed issue with energy site decals being misplaced
- Plantation_EX: Fixed issue with spectator point being in a bad position
- Refinery_EX: Fixed missing rain particle
- Refinery_EX: Various particle tweaks
- FY-71 balancing adjustments

- Added z_buy command to buy weapons and/or vehicles
Crysis Wars EX 1.0.1 Download & Installation
We provide three Crysis Wars EX install methods. The first one is an
installer; we moreover recommend players to use this installer version.
The installer will lead you through the full installation process, and
will place a shortcut on your desktop to start Crysis Wars EX. The
second method is a simple .zip archive that should be used by Server
Administrators to upgrade their servers to Crysis Wars EX. Just copy
the complete “Mods” folder to your Crysis Wars main folder. The third
and last install method is also the easiest one. If you have installed
Crysis Wars 1.0 on your hard drive then you can use the Auto Installer
to download and install the patch.

Crysis Wars EX 1.0.1 Announcement
After a successful release and good feedback from the community we
decided to release a small patch that addresses quite a few issues and
adds further improvements. We finished the patch 1.0.1 development and
are currently preparing the release for Monday 27th of July. The full
change log can be found below.

The upcoming version 1.0.1 will not be the last one. The team is
